Beer Encounters

Great Pumpkin Halloween Party

Don’t you just love October? This is the time of year when all the Oktoberfest beers and other fall seasonal offerings begin to show up on the market from our favorite breweries. Including a beer style which is becoming more and more popular every year, Pumpkin Ale. smiling-pumpkin.jpg

It’s for the love of this beer style, that your friends at BeerEncounters.com have once again organized the 2nd Annual Great Pumpkin Beer Tasting and Halloween Party.

What began as a “pumpkin beer tasting” has grown into a Halloween party and it has actually put a new great spin on beer tastings. You see, we believe that any organization can serve good food and great beer, but at BeerEncounters.com we entertain our guests as well. peeps231.jpg Somebody said it last year and it has kind of stuck with us as the unofficial slogan, “nobody parties like Beer Encounters”, and we are going to make sure we live up to it.

If you missed it last year, you missed out on a great time. This year you have a chance to get your ticket early and celebrate the arrival of autumn brews and the Halloween season at the same time with fellow enthusiasts.

Last year, we had more then 30 different seasonal brews for your sampling pleasure. The breweries that came to help us celebrate were Red Hook Brewing Company, Saranac Brewing Company, Shipyard Brewing Company, Dogfish Head Brewing Company, Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale, Stone Cat Brewing Company, Milly’s Tavern Brew Pub, John Harvard’s Brew Pub, Cape Ann Brewing Company and Magic Hat Brewing Company. beergirl.jpg Many of them brought special brews that were exclusively showcased at our event. We even had a large assortment of growlers fresh seasonal brews and some other of our favorite pumpkin ales.

Our friend Mark “the historian” over at happyhourmobile.com made the trip up to New Hampshire from New York to check out the fun. Here is what he had to say in his article about the event. “As it should be with an event that bills itself as a beer tasting, the beers were the stars of the night. I worked my way through as many of the choices possible, but I’m only human, so I couldn’t try them all”. He went on to add; “The lads over at beerencounters.com put on a great party. They started the company to bring people together and share their passion for quality beers. The smiles on the faces of their guests at the end of the evening were proof that this night was a success”.

Whether you’re enjoying a few session brews, a little more then a few or just plain sports drinking, you’ve got to have on some great tunes! This is where “one of our own” and local favorite DJ Matty Z takes care of business. Armed with an unrivaled mattyz1.jpg collection of music from every era in history, you can bet that he will get the party people on the dance floor and keep them there!

What successful event wouldn’t be a success without a bunch of surprises? Last year we had well-known Boston area magician David Hall who was nothing less then amazing wondering the crowd and showing off his magic. He was an awesome addition to the event. This year we have a lot more surprises and it’s temping to give out hints but the surprise at the event will be worth keeping my mouth shut for now.

Everyone really gets into their costumes and it’s always a riot to see who gonna walk in the door. This year we expect the few people who didn’t suit up last year to redeem them self this year. Also, we have games, best costume contest, and no shortage of prizes andpeeps.jpg give-a-ways. We are bringing back our popular pumpkin bowling. Our attendees got to see Bill Clinton win the prize when he knocked down a whopping 2 pins with Hilary screaming her support from the side! Last year grand prize was a kegerator for best costume!

I could go on and on about this event, but let me close by just saying this. If you like to party, if you get into Halloween and have an appreciation for great craft beer? Get your ticket early and come celebrate the season with some guys who know how to throw a great party. Remember, nobody parties like Beer Encounters! See you there!
